After collecting all the evidence, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed a chargesheet against former Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Akhand Pratap Singh, his wife and two daughters today in the two-year-old disproportionate assets case.

New Delhi, Mar 28 : After collecting all the evidence, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed a chargesheet against former Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Akhand Pratap Singh, his wife and two daughters today in the two-year-old disproportionate assets case.

Singh was accused of acquiring movable and immovable assets worth crores. He also acquired 85 immovable properties and operated100 bank accounts in Delhi, Ghaziabad, Noida, Nainital, Bahraich and Lucknow.

The CBI is believed to have collected all bank documents and property papers, which it said proves that Singh had acquired most of his property in the name of his family members, friends and relatives.

The CBI has also reportedly recovered proof of Singh's shares and debentures investment.

Singh was arrested on September 25 by CBI sleuths at a Vasant Kunj farmhouse as he was attempting to flee from there and not cooperating in the investigations. He was also accused of tampering with the evidence pertaining to the case.

A P Singh has also been accused of forging the signatures of his dead father, and a friend to facilitate the transfer of properties and of routing financial transactions through fictitious bank accounts.
