Leader of Opposition, L.K. Advani has congratulated Pakistani Premier Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on his assumption of office.

Mumbai, Mar 26 : Leader of Opposition, L.K. Advani has congratulated Pakistani Premier Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on his assumption of office.

"I extend my heartiest congratulations to Gilani and hope and want that democracy prevails and strengthens in Pakistan," Advani said on the sidelines of a function here to mark the release of his autobiography titled 'My Country, My Life'.

Gilani, the first premier from the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) who is not a member of the Bhutto family, was administered the oath of office by President Pervez Musharraf on Tuesday.
