Four persons, including two girls were killed and and four injured in separate attacks by militants in Manipur on Tuesday.

Imphal, Mar 25 : Four persons, including two girls were killed and and four injured in separate attacks by militants in Manipur on Tuesday.

Militants fired at a group of young boy and girls participating in 'thabal chongba' dance festival last night at Heirok village in Thoubal district. Two girls Laishram Nirmala (16) and Thokchom Promila (17) died on the spot, while Romesh (21) succumbed to bullet wounds at a hospital.In protest against the killings, scores of people took out a procession at Heirok and surrounding villages.

Earlier, a man at Okram Chuthek area in Imphal and an autorickshaw driver in Keirao Litan were shot dead on Monday night.

The Local police said, we are investigating why locals at Heirok organised 'thabal chongba' dance during dusk, despite curfew in the place from 6 pm every day in the valley districts including Thoubal.
