The Uttar Pradesh Government has decided to give 50 per cent subsidy to the weavers.

Lucknow, Mar 24 : The Uttar Pradesh Government has decided to give 50 per cent subsidy to the weavers.

The central government has sanctioned 4,670000 rupees for the scheme during the current financial year.

According to official sources, for monitoring the implementation of the scheme, committees at the district and state level would be constituted.

The scheme can be availed of by those power loom weavers or weavers societies, who registered Below Poverty Line (BPL).

The weaver can receive a maximum of one lakh rupees as subsidy.

Financial support of 45000 rupees for construction of loom would be given to the weavers.
