4 security personnel, 1 LeT militant killed in Srinagar

At least four security personnel and a top Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) militant were killed, and three others injured on Sunday in an attack triggered by the rebel group on a military search party near Srinagar.

Srinagar, March 23 : At least four security personnel and a top Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) militant were killed, and three others injured on Sunday in an attack triggered by the rebel group on a military search party near Srinagar.

According to official sources, Special Operations group (SOG) of local police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were attacked by a group of militants at Telbal near Harwan-Hazratbal road.

Sources also said that three police personnel and a CRPF jawan were killed and three others, including a sub-inspector were injured in the incident.

The killed militant has been identified as Faisal. He is said to be a self-styled divisional commander of Pakistan-based LeT outfit.

An injured militant managed to escape. Police has launched an operation to arrest him.
