Dharamsala, Mar 23 : Hundreds of Tibetan exiles took out a candle light demonstration here to urge the Chinese Government to refrain from repression in Tibet.
"We are urging the Chinese Government and the international world to stop using repression as a way to stop the unrest inside Tibet. We are looking for a more realistic solution, which is political dialogue with our leader, his holiness Dalai Lama," said Pema Dorjee, a demonstrator.
"We are also trying to show solidarity with our people in Tibet who are suffering under the tyranny of the Chinese Government," Dorjee added.
China's crackdown has drawn international criticism, with U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi calling the situation in Tibet a challenge to the world's conscience and Germany urging Beijing to allow foreign observers in the region.
Tibetan exiles across the globe are expressing their solidarity for Tibetans in China and are demanding that the Beijing Olympic games schedule to be held in August be stopped. They also called for the exiled Dalai Lama to be allowed to live in Tibet.
The Dalai Lama has been urging the Tibetans to resort to non-violent means and his middle-path is regarded as a 'pragmatic political approach' that meets with the demands of the Tibetans of gaining greater autonomy as well as respecting the territorial integrity of China.
