New Delhi, Mar 20 : The Cabinet today gave its approval for signing of memorandum of understanding (MoU) between India and Malaysia on employment of workers.
This would benefit the Indian emigrant workers, especially the unskilled, semi-skilled and skilled workers.
The MoU would help in facilitation of employment of workers between the two countries, broad procedure for employment of workers and responsibilities of the employers, workers and recruitment agencies.
It would also enhance bilateral co-operation in promoting orderly recruitment and development of workers including co-operation in pre-departure orientation and skill up-gradation training;
Protection and welfare of all categories of workers under the labour laws and other relevant laws of the host country, is also a salient feature of the MoU.
