Suspected militants have killed at least three people in Assams Dhemaji District, including a woman, and injured forty eight, in a grenade explosion.

Guwahati, Mar 16 : Suspected militants have killed at least three people in Assam's Dhemaji District, including a woman, and injured forty eight, in a grenade explosion.

The victims were attending a cultural function in Jonai in connection with the Ali Aye Lrigang Festival of the Mishing Community. The grenade was hurled around 11.45 p.m. on Saturday night.

According to sources, senior police officials have ordered the cordoning off the area and activated relief and rescue operations immediately.
