CBI pulled up, asked to file report in 1884 Sikh riots case

A Delhi court today pulled up CBI for its failure to file status report in a 1984 anti-Sikh riots case involving Congress leader Jagdish Tytler.

New Delhi, Mar 12 : A Delhi court today pulled up CBI for its failure to file status report in a 1984 anti-Sikh riots case involving Congress leader Jagdish Tytler.

The court also directed the CBI to file its report in the case involving Tytler within a week.

The CBI, in January, was granted some more time by the court to file the investigation report in the anti-Sikh riots case.

The agency was supposed to submit its report on March 12.

The court had on December 18 ordered CBI to reinvestigate the case, rejecting its closure report, after the witness surfaced in the United States and expressed his willingness to record his statement against Tytler.
