Police in Bihars Gaya District have recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from the Asurain forest area, said to be a Maoist hotbed.

Sherghati (Bihar), Mar 10 : Police in Bihar's Gaya District have recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from the Asurain forest area, said to be a Maoist hotbed.

The seized weapons included 50 hand grenades, 15165 live cartridges, 50 chargers of SLR rifle, one imported pistol and revolver, 101 magazines, large number of butt covers, wireless handsets and Maoist outfits, besides documents.

One person has been arrested from the seizure site.Amit Kumar Jain, Superintendent of Police of Gaya District, said he believed the Maoists were having a training camp in the area.

However, the arrested person denied having any link with Maoists.

"I graze cattle," claimed Bundi Bhokta.
