Shillong, Mar 10 : The newly formed Meghalaya Progressive Alliance (MPA) paraded 30 MLAs before the Governor S S Sidhu today to complete the formality of constitution of new house.

The non-Congress Alliance had claimed on Sunday that it had support of four Independents, which raised its strength to 33.

"Due to sickness, former Chief Minister E K Mawlong could not accompany his colleagues to the Raj Bhavan," sources said.

This is the second time MPA has paraded 30 legislators before the Governor after the 3rd March elections.
