Congress Party President Sonia Gandhi will address two rallies in Nagaland today for the single-phase Assembly elections, scheduled to be held on March 5.

Kohima, Mar 1 : Congress Party President Sonia Gandhi will address two rallies in Nagaland today for the single-phase Assembly elections, scheduled to be held on March 5.

Sonia will address a rally at Mokokchung ground. Later, she will address another rally at Dimapur.

About 13 lakh voters are expected to decide the fate of 218 candidates contesting for the 60 assembly seats.

The main contest is between the Nagaland People's Front (NPF) and the Congress.Prominent leaders seeking re-elections include two former Chief Ministers Neiphiu Rio (NPF) and K L Chishi (Congress). CLP leader I Imkong will contest from Jamgpetkong constituency in Mokokchung District against NPF candidate Dr I Longri.The counting of votes will take place on March 7.
