New Mumbai Police Commissioner has said that his priority would be to root out terrorism.

Mumbai, Mar 1 : New Mumbai Police Commissioner has said that his priority would be to root out terrorism.

"The first priority naturally will be action against terrorism, and second would be to control law and order situation," said Gaffor who replaced D N Jadhav last evening.

Gafoor is the city's second Muslim police chief after Independence. The first was Sayyed Majeedullah (1962-1965).

Meanwhile, A N Roy, the state's new Director General of Police said that we would try to improve our professional competence.

"We will try to continue the good work and we will try to make the police more professional. We will work for the people, for our force, and create more secure and more homogenous and better environment," said Roy.
