The campaigning for the single-phase Meghalaya Assembly polls, slated for March 3, will end today at 4 p.m.

Shillong, Mar 1 : The campaigning for the single-phase Meghalaya Assembly polls, slated for March 3, will end today at 4 p.m.

Adequate security personnel have been deployed to ensure free and fair elections. There has been no report of poll related violence from any where in the state.As per the revised electoral roll, over 12 lakh 30 thousand voters are eligible to exercise their franchise. ut of 1582 polling stations in the state, 635 have been declared hyper sensitive and 194 as sensitive. 40 companies of central paramilitary forces will be deployed in the entire state to ensure free and fair polls.The counting of votes will take place on March 7.

The eighth Meghalaya Legislative Assembly is to be constituted by March 10.
