Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Secretary Shashank Shekhar Singh has been relieved of the charge of administrative head of the state secretariat.Talking to reporters, Chief Minister Mayawati said that Chief Secretary P K Misra will be the new administrative head of the state secretariat.

Lucknow, Mar 1 : Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Secretary Shashank Shekhar Singh has been relieved of the charge of administrative head of the state secretariat.Talking to reporters, Chief Minister Mayawati said that Chief Secretary P K Misra will be the new administrative head of the state secretariat.

She added that Singh will continue to be UP Cabinet Secretary.

Commenting on the move, she said: "Singh himself had requested that he be relieved of the charge of administrative head of the state secretariat."

Singh also requested for withdrawal of the status of a Cabinet Minister.

Leader of the Opposition Mulayam Singh Yadav has objected to the granting of status of a Cabinet Minister to Singh, who is a non-IAS cadre officer.
