Karnataka Ministry expanded

Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on Saturday expanded his eight-day-old Ministry.

Bangalore, June 7 : Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on Saturday expanded his eight-day-old Ministry.

He inducted his trusted Lieutenant Katta Subramanya Naidu into the cabinet.

Governor Rameshwar Thakur administered the oath of office and secrecy to Naidu at Raj Bhavan.

With today's induction, the strength of the first ever formal Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Ministry in Southern India has gone up to 31.

Yeddyurappa and 29 Ministers were sworn-in on May 30th.

Naidu could not take oath on May 30th as he was away from the capital.

Naidu had served as the Minister for Industries in the previous Janata Dal Secular (JDS-BJP) coalition. He represents Hebbal Assembly Constituency.

Yeddyurappa on Friday won the trust vote in the Assembly.

Talking to media, Yeddyurappa said the vote of confidence has given five years time to BJP to prove as per the manifesto.

The BJP won the vote of confidence through a voice vote, which included the support of the six independents, five of whom are in the cabinet.

The BJP with 110 seats in the 224-member house formed the government with the help of six independent candidates.
