The Delhi Government has decided to increase only 10 rupees inclusive of tax on a domestic LPG cylinder instead of 50 rupees as decided by the Centre.

New Delhi, June 5 : The Delhi Government has decided to increase only 10 rupees inclusive of tax on a domestic LPG cylinder instead of 50 rupees as decided by the Centre.

This decision was taken in a Cabinet meeting chaired by the Delhi Chief Minister, Sheila Dikshit in New Delhi on Thursday.

Now the gas cylinder will be available in the capital for rupees 304.70 as against Rs.346.30 from Friday.

Briefing media persons, she said that her government wants to give relief to Delhi households to contain the rate of inflation.

She said the modalities for the same would be worked out in due course of time by reducing Value Added Tax (VAT) and giving subsidy.

The Chief Minister said that the Cabinet has also decided not to increase the bus fare as public transport is running on CNG.

She said that economy measures would be taken to curb unnecessary expenditure and as a first step it has been decided not to send any delegation abroad.
