Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollogama met his Indian counterpart Pranab Mukherjee here today.

New Delhi, June 16 : Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollogama met his Indian counterpart Pranab Mukherjee here today.

Security situation in Sri Lanka in the wake of the recent LTTE attacks is believed to have come up for discussion.

Besides, several other issues were also discussed during the meeting.

Bogollogama, who arrived here last night, will meet Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh in the evening. He is expected to discuss recent developments in his country and areas of bilateral cooperation.

During his visit, Bogollagama will extend a formal invite to the Prime Minister for the 15th SAARC Summit to be held in Colombo in August.

The next meeting of the heads of state and government of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) is scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka in August.

The Summit will be presided over by Dr. Manmohan Singh where he will hand over the chair to Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
