Gujjars agree to hold talks

After the release of 25 Gujjar women, who were arrested for damaging rail tracks in Bandikui in Dausa District last week, the Gujjar representatives today agreed to resume second round of talks with the Rajasthan government in Jaipur.

Jaipur, June 12 : After the release of 25 Gujjar women, who were arrested for damaging rail tracks in Bandikui in Dausa District last week, the Gujjar representatives today agreed to resume second round of talks with the Rajasthan government in Jaipur.

A 28-member team of Gujjars has left for Jaipur where members from different parts of Rajasthan will assemble at 9 p.m. and will decide the time of the meeting.

Gujjar leader Kirori Singh Bainsla will not attend the meeting he said.

The State authorities have sent a bus to Karwadi- Pilupura area, the epicentre of the 21-day-old stir, to transport the Gujjar delegation.

Earlier in the day, Additional District and Sessions Judge Bhuvan Goel in Dausa granted bail to 25 Gujjar women, who were taken into custody for damaging rail tracks.

The judge asked them to furnish a personal bond of Rs 10,000 each and a surety of like amount for their release from prison, Station House Officer of the police station in Karwadi, Girdhari Lal Sharma said.

Their bail plea was rejected on Wednesday by Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate in Bandikui Rita Tejwani.

Gujjar leader Kirori Singh Bainsla had on Wednesday said that he will not send a delegation to Jaipur for the second round of talks till the women were freed.
