About 100 people stormed into the North Avenue residence of the Lok Sabha member from Damoh (Madhya Pradesh) around 11 am when Singh was present in his house.
Shouting slogans praising BJP Chief Rajnath Singh and Senior Leader L K Advani, the activists broke window panes and flower pots, besides barging into the drawing room of the MP's official residence.
The activists said, they would not let Chandrabhan live in peace, as he had allegedly sold himself to the ruling Congress party.
"He sold himself to the Congress party and the activists of Bharatiya Janata Party Youth Wing will not leave him in peace," said Manoj Kumar Sharma, Leader, Youth Wing, Hindu Nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The parliamentarian from Damoh in central Madhya Pradesh had voted in favour of the Government during the July 22 confidence vote in the Lok Sabha and was expelled by the BJP on Wednesday (July 23) along with seven other parliamentarians.
Police intervention saved the day for the parliamentarian, who seemed shaken from the entire incident.
"The attackers had revolvers with them. They were threatening me. It is a conspiracy by the party to murder the leaders. The party can stoop to any level. I will demand security for myself and my family," he said.
Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson Prakash Javdekar, said the party believed in dealing with the issue in a peaceful manner but termed the anger of the activists as justified.
"The lawmakers turned against the party which brought them to parliament and ditched the party at the last moment. So the anger of the people is justified but we have always maintained that we would not resort to any violence in dealing with such people," said Javdekar.
The lawmakers of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had alleged bribery by the ruling Congress- led UPA (United Progressive Alliance) government to win the Tuesday's trust vote.
Three BJP lawmakers had waved wads of currency notes in the Lok Sabha during the trust vote proceedings, stunning the whole nation.
The BJP claimed that its three Members of Parliament (MPs) - Ashok Argal, Faggan Singh Kulaste and Mahaveer Bagora - were offered 30 million rupees each and were handed over 10 million rupees each in advance.
The MP and his family members are safe.
