New Delhi, Jan.9 : Commenting on the dismal implementation of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREG) in Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today described it as a hurriedly devised scheme full of loopholes.

"It is not working anywhere. It should be done with the aid of biometrics and information technology," he said.

The NREG guarantees 100 days of work to the poorest of the poor. It has come under scrutiny after the office of the Comptroller and Auditor General pointed severe discrepancies in its implementation.

He said: "I am not convinced with the principal and policy of making special economic zones."
