Election Commission reviewing poll preparations for Karnataka Assembly

Chief Election Commissioner N. Gopalaswamy and the two Election Commissioners Dr. S.Y. Quraishi and Navin Chawla met with Election officers, Deputy Commissioners and other functionaries of the state here today to review preparations for the forthcoming assembly election in Karnataka.

Bangalore, Jan 9 : Chief Election Commissioner N. Gopalaswamy and the two Election Commissioners Dr. S.Y. Quraishi and Navin Chawla met with Election officers, Deputy Commissioners and other functionaries of the state here today to review preparations for the forthcoming assembly election in Karnataka.

They are scheduled to meet Governor Rameshwar Thakur and political leaders, besides holding discussions on problems related to the preparations of voters list in the state.

Karnataka is presently under President's rule following the resignation of BJP Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa in November last year.
