Crest is set to WOW the Indian Animation Industry

The wow factor in animations has just gone up with Crest announcing its WOW (Work of Wonder) awards for 2008.

Mumbai, January 7th, 2008: The wow factor in animations has just gone up with Crest announcing its WOW (Work of Wonder) awards for 2008. The awards are being given in appreciation and acknowledgement of creativity, talent and efforts in the workplace. Awards were streamed live at Zaver Ben Popatlal Auditorium, Ghatkopar (E) on January 7, 2008 from 5 pm onwards. Present at the occasion to support and encourage the Crestians was Mr. Jean Louis, Director, MBC (Monster Buster Club).

Crestians at all levels are likely to be affected by the Wow factor. The awards fall into three broad categories, namely, CGI, Support Function, and Broad Parameters covering every level of expertise. All artists were invited to put up their work for nomination, provided the same is part of the workload.

A panel of eminent luminaries supporting this novel Crest endeavour includes noted film director Mr. Shyam Benegal. Its boom time for Indian animation and the awards will showcase the rich and talented pool of artists that India has.

Each category had (1) award each encompassing the very Best of Model, Rigs, Textures, Animatics, Backgrounds & Sets, Matte, Lighting, Effects, Rendering & Compositing, Innovative and State of Art Technological support, Human Capital Development, Indigenously built proprietary software tools, Industry Best Practices in the field of Production & Corporate Governance.

The winners would be presented with a trophy conceived and designed by the artists of Crest.

The judging was based on Broad Parameters such as: Characterization, Visualization, Acting, Creativity, Innovation, Visual Appeal and Productivity, "Indian Animation Industry has been witnessing a tremendous growth in the last few years.
