Madonna visits Udaipur

Pop icon Madonna visited Udaipur, popularly known as the City of Lakes, in Rajasthan on Sunday.

Udaipur, Jan 6 : Pop icon Madonna visited Udaipur, popularly known as the City of Lakes, in Rajasthan on Sunday.

The singer-actress, who is on a week-long holiday in the desert state, went to the famous Umaid Bhawan Palace on Saturday.

Earlier, she went for a horse ride in Rohit village, situated about 40-kilometers from Jodhpur.

Madonna arrived in India on New Year's Eve with her filmmaker husband Guy Ritchie, two-year-old son David Banda and a couple of friends.

Madonna, who has been holidaying in Jodhpur and getting a taste of rural India, visiting historic forts and participating in folk dances, will fly to Mumbai on Monday.

The singer who has been listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the most successful female musicians of the world will feature in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year.

Over the past decade Rajasthan has emerged as one of the favourite tourist destinations in India.
