The alliance partners of the Congress Party at the Center are trying to form a new coalition to contain the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the next Lok Sabha polls, a website has claimed.

New Delhi, Jan 28 : The alliance partners of the Congress Party at the Center are trying to form a new coalition to contain the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the next Lok Sabha polls, a website has claimed.

In their attempt to fight L K Advani-Narendra Modi juggernaut, the chiefs of regional parties and national parties of the United Progressive Alliance and a few other chiefs of regional parties "will come together to from a new national coalition in 2008."

The new coalition constituents, including the Left Parties, the Samajwadi Party, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Dravida Munnettra Kazhagam (DMK), the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, the Lok Janshakti Party (LJSP), Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), the People's Democratic Party (PDP), the All India Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM), the Republican Party of India (RPI) will have strength of 172 in the Lok Sabha, www.politicsparty.com has revealed.

According to the website, a regional party leader will be the new Prime Minister.

"We have supported you and a Congress-led Government from 2004 till now and worked under a Congress Prime Minister" against the wish of electorate of the country, the website quoted a proposed ultimatum to Congress president Sonia Gandhi, as stating.

"From now to 2009, we want a non-Congress Prime Minister to lead the government" to contain L K Advani and Narendra Modi led NDA. "We are convinced that you and your party will fail to contain BJP," the parties will say to Sonia Gandhi in their proposed ultimatum.

These parties will also urge the Congress to either be the part of the new government or extend outside support to the new coalition.

The website has also claimed that if the Congress Party does not accept the conditions set in the ultimatum, the new coalition may go for mid-term polls.
