Former Chief of Army Staff, General (retired) Joginder Jaswant Singh on Sunday sworn-in as the new Governor of Arunachal Pradesh.

New Delhi, Jan 27 : Former Chief of Army Staff, General (retired) Joginder Jaswant Singh on Sunday sworn-in as the new Governor of Arunachal Pradesh.

Guwahati High Court Chief Justice Jasti Chelameswar administered the oath of office and secrecy to General (retired) JJ Singh, who has been decorated by several medals, including the Param Vishisht Seva Medal (PVSM), the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) and the Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM).

Singh`s family members, including his father Colonel (retired) Jaswant Singh Marwah and wife Anupama Singh were present during the swearing-in ceremony that was attended by Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu, State Cabinet Ministers and Legislators, and top ranking officials.

An alumnus of the National Defence Academy (NDA), he was commissioned into the 9 Maratha Light Infantry (LI) on August 2, 1964, and was the 22nd Chief of Army Staff.
