Bihar Caustic and Chemicals Limited has reported good results for the third Quarter ended December 31, 2007. Net sales at Rs 48.10 crores are up 21% vis a vis Rs 39.70 crores attained in the same quarter last year.
Net profit, at Rs 16.45 crores, soared by 71% as against Rs 9.57 crores for the corresponding period last year.
Bihar Caustic's growth rate at 25% is nearly double that of the market which grew at 13%.
"The results are a reflection of the Company's ongoing focus on cost optimization processes and increasing manpower productivity. The revamping of the power plant which recorded a plant load factor of 102% also contributed towards the enhanced performance numbers", says Mr. K.K. Maheshwari, Aditya Birla Group's Director responsible for the Group's Chemical and Trading business.
Bihar Caustic has won the distinction of being named as the winner of the IMC's Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality Award - First Prize in the Manufacturing Sector, 2007. The Award is to be conferred in March 2008 at the IMC function.
