President Pratibha Patil has appointed former Chief of Army Staff, General (Retired) Joginder Jaswant Singh, as the new Governor of Arunachal Pradesh.
New Delhi, Jan 24 : President Pratibha Patil has appointed former Chief of Army Staff, General (Retired) Joginder Jaswant Singh, as the new Governor of Arunachal Pradesh.
General (Retired) Singh, who has been decorated by several medals, including the Param Vishisht Seva Medal (PVSM), the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) and the Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM), will assume charge soon, sources said.
An alumnus of the National Defence Academy (NDA), he was commissioned into the 9 Maratha Light Infantry (LI) on August 2, 1964, and was the 22nd Chief of Army Staff.
