Four militants were killed in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday in two separate encounters with security forces in Kupwara and Shopian Districts.

Srinagar, Jan 21 : Four militants were killed in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday in two separate encounters with security forces in Kupwara and Shopian Districts.

Police was working on a tip off at Alaypore village in Shopian. Two militants who were hiding in a house opened fire at the security forces and were killed in the exchange of fire, official sources said.

According to official sources search was on in the area till last report came in.

Two more militants were killed in another encounter with security forces at Mandigam village of Kupwara district.

Identity of the encountered militants was being ascertained.
