Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) N Gopalaswami will review the poll preparedness in Meghalaya today.
Shillong, Jan 18 : Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) N Gopalaswami will review the poll preparedness in Meghalaya today.
During his two-day visit, a high-level team will hold discussions with the Deputy Commissioners and the State Election officials separately.
The EC team will also interact with political parties representatives.
A single-phase Assembly poll will be held on March 3. There are 60 Assembly Constituency seats out of which 55 seats are reserved for the Scheduled Tribes.
The filing of nomination papers will begin on February 8 and close on February 15. The last date for withdrawal of nominations is February 18.
Counting of votes would take place on March 7.
The current term of the Meghalaya Assembly ends on March 10.
