Hungarian PM Ferenc Gyurcsany meets President Patil

Hungarian Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsany met President Pratibha Patil here today.

New Delhi, Jan 18 : Hungarian Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsany met President Pratibha Patil here today.

Gyurcsany also met External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee. The two leaders reportedly held discussions on improving bilateral cooperation and other issues of mutual interest.

The visiting Prime Minister will hold delegation level talks with Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, this evening.

He is also slated to meet Congress President Sonia Gandhi and opposition leader Lal Krishna Advani.

Earlier in the day, Gyurcsany was accorded a ceremonial welcome at the forecourts of Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Gyurcsany is on a four-day visit aimed at boosting bilateral relations with India.

Hungary, an important member of the European Union and a member of the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG), supports India's candidature for permanent seat in the expanded UN Security Council.
