At least 17 people were injured in a renade blast that rocked Guwahati last evening.
Guwahati, Jan 14 : At least 17 people were injured in a renade blast that rocked Guwahati last evening.
The injured, included a minor girl, were admitted to the Guwahati edical College and Hospital, while four were treated for plinter injuries at a nearby private hospital.
The blast, which took place on the eve of the Assam's harvest estival Bhogali Bihu near the Guwahati railway station, occurred t around 7.30 p.m.A top police official of the state told reporters that according o preliminary investigation, the grenade was lobbed by a ilitant of the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) at a CRPF latoon on patrol duty.
In the wake of the blast, tight security arrangements have been ade in view of the festival celebrations in the state.
