India, China to ink rail pact

The Union Cabinet today gave its approval for signing of a MoU between India and China for cooperation in the rail sector.

New Delhi, Jan 10 : The Union Cabinet today gave its approval for signing of a MoU between India and China for cooperation in the rail sector.

The MoU will be valid for three years.

The Cabinet also approved the signing of MoU between both the countries for cooperation in the field of geosciences.

Another MoU for the development of their respective traditional medicine was also approved by the Cabinet.

This will provide a legal framework to the cooperation among the two countries for the development of their respective traditional medicine systems and adoption of common strategies for global positioning of these systems.

Another MoU for cooperation in land resource management, land administration, resettlement and rehabilitation was also approved by the Cabinet.

The Cabinet also approved the signing of a MoU between both the countries for cooperation in housing sector.

The MoUs will be signed during the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh's forthcoming visit to China.
