Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh visit to Maharashtras Gondia District has been cancelled today.
Gondia (Maharashtra), Feb 9 : Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh visit to Maharashtra's Gondia District has been cancelled today.
According to sources, Dr. Singh's visit has been cancelled due to the death of noted social activist and Magsaysay award winner Murlidhar Devidas Amte popular known as Baba Amte.
Dr. Singh was scheduled to visit Gondia from Pune on a day-long where he was scheduled to lay the foundation stone of the Rs 8,000-cr 1,980 MW super thermal power station at MIDC in Tiroda.
The Prime Minister was also scheduled to lay the foundation stone for the establishment of Rajiv Gandhi National Flying Training Institute of the Airport Authority of India (AAI) at Birsi airport in Gondia.
He will return to Delhi from Pune directly.
