New Delhi, Feb 7 : The Election Commission (EC) will convene a high-level meeting of poll officials of all states here today to make strategies for free and fair electioneering process.

Chief Election Commissioner N Gopalaswami and Election Commissioners - Navin Chawla and S Y Quraishi - will take stock of the poll-related issues with Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) of all the states and union territories.

The meeting is likely to focus on reviewing of photo electoral rolls to eliminate bogus voters.

Issues pertaining to the delimitation of constituencies in the backdrop of the Centre's decision that the forthcoming elections will be held in redrawn constituencies are also likely to be discussed in the meeting.

It must be noted that the delimitation exercise has been deferred in Jharkhand, Assam, Manipur, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh.

The delimitation process has been completed for 3,726 assembly constituencies and 513 Lok Sabha constituencies. A Presidential order has to be issued for it to become operational in time for the 2009 general elections.
