Today is the last day for the filing of nomination papers for a single-phase Assembly poll in Tripura, which is scheduled to be held on February 23.
Agartala, Feb 6 : Today is the last day for the filing of nomination papers for a single-phase Assembly poll in Tripura, which is scheduled to be held on February 23.
As many as 642 nomination papers were filed till February 5. Scrutiny will be held on February 7 and the last date for the withdrawal of nominations is February 9.
The Election Commission (EC) has decided to appoint ten micro observers for each constituency in the ensuing election.
The EC has already finalised 527 micro observers. Another 150 micro observers are to be short listed soon.
Out of 60 seats, 20 seats are reserved for the Scheduled Tribes and seven for the Scheduled Castes.
The counting of votes would take place on March 7.
The current term of the Tripura Assembly ends on March 19.
