The Pakistan High Commissioner to India, Shahib Malik, has said that the Defence Secretaries of India and Pakistan would meet in April this year to discuss issues pertaining to Siachen.

Chennai, Feb 3 : The Pakistan High Commissioner to India, Shahib Malik, has said that the Defence Secretaries of India and Pakistan would meet in April this year to discuss issues pertaining to Siachen.

Malik also said that Islambad and New Delhi have come closer to discuss possible solutions.

"We feel that Siachen is doable. It can be resolved. A certain formula has been given to the Indian side, which should take care of Indian concerns," he said while a talking to journalists of The Hindu, in Chennai

Malik went on to say that Pakistan has given a certain formula after taking into consideration the question that was raised "about authenticating the present Indian position of Indian troops at a particular point."

"We feel, should take care of the concerns," he added.

Though Malik was confident for an early resolution of the Siachen issue, he pointed out that "a political push was required to sort out the issue."

Commenting no the composite dialogue process between the two countries, Malik said that the Foreign Secretaries from both the countries would meet in Islamabad in March.

The Foreign Secretaries would review the progress made in the previous four rounds. The date for the fifth round is likely to be announced after the review meeting.
