High alert on Indo-Bangla border

The Border Security Force has been placed on high alert along the Indo-Bangla border in both Meghalaya and Assam ahead of the ensuing assembly elections in Meghalaya.

Shillong/ Guwahati, Feb 25 : The Border Security Force has been placed on high alert along the Indo-Bangla border in both Meghalaya and Assam ahead of the ensuing assembly elections in Meghalaya.

BSF Inspector General of Police P K Mishra today said all the troops along the border have been instructed to be extra vigilant to thwart any attempt of infiltration into the country. An appeal has also been made to the people residing in the border areas to be vigilant. Additional patrol bases have been established along the border to enhance the vigil. (ANI with inputs)
