Kannada activists protest against Lalu Prasad

Scores of activists of Kannada Gadi Rakshana Vedike (Kannada Border Protection Forum) led by former Karnataka MLA Vatal Nagaraj on Sunday protested against an alleged remark made by Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav over Kannada people.

Bangalore, Feb 24 : Scores of activists of Kannada Gadi Rakshana Vedike (Kannada Border Protection Forum) led by former Karnataka MLA Vatal Nagaraj on Sunday protested against an alleged remark made by Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav over Kannada people.

Condemning Lalu's alleged remark that Kannada people were "dirty", Nagaraj demanded greater share for the state in the forthcoming railway budget.

"We will intensify our agitation if the Railway Minister doesn't withdraw his remarks on Kannada people. If he doesn't apologize, we will not allow Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to inaugurate the Devanahalli International Airport," said Nagaraj.

The protesters said that Lalu made this remark during an inaugural function in the state a few days back.
