Jayalalitha celebrates her 60th birthday

All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) Chief and former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, J. Jayalalithaa celebrated her 60th birthday today.

Chennai, Feb 24 : All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) Chief and former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, J. Jayalalithaa celebrated her 60th birthday today.

Jayalalitha supporters organised special prayers, fed poor and set up medical camps to celebrate their leader's birthday.

Jayalalithaa also presided over a mass marriage ceremony as part of her birthday celebrations. Around 60 poor couple got married during the ceremony.

"I am happy to get married under amma, we have fulfilled our parents dreams and beliefs," said lakshmi priya, who got married in the mass ceremony.

The AIADMK leader had celebrated her nakshatra or 'star' birthday on Thursday at the Thirukadiyur temple in Nagapattinam where a string of special prayers were performed for her long life.
