A three-storied textile showroom caught fire late on Friday night in Coimbatore, causing huge losses.
Coimbatore, Feb 23 : A three-storied textile showroom caught fire late on Friday night in Coimbatore, causing huge losses.
The incident occurred at around 10. 30 p.m.
Flames leapt out of the Pavizlam Textile Company's showroom, which is located in a market with over 1000 textile units, jewellery shops and trading centres.
At least six fire engines were required to douse the flames out. It took rarely six hours to put the blaze out.
"We received a call at 11p.m. and we tried our best to douse the fire," said Bal Sami, Deputy Director, Fire Service, Coimbatore Division.
"All the goods stored in the building were burnt," claimed Mohammad Nazer, owner.
An investigation has been ordered into the incident.
