An India-Pakistan committee, formed in March 2007 to look into the repatriation of prisoners between the countries, will meet for the first time on Tuesday.

New Delhi, Feb.23 : An India-Pakistan committee, formed in March 2007 to look into the repatriation of prisoners between the countries, will meet for the first time on Tuesday.

According to the Daily Times, Pakistani members of the committee - Justice (r) Abdul Qadeer Chaudhry, Justice (r) Mian Jameel and Justice (r) Aslam Nasir Zahid - will arrive in New Delhi for the discussions with their Indian counterparts - Justice (r) K R Vyas, Justice (r) Amarjit Chaudhry, Justice (r) A S Gill and Justice (r) M A Khan.

The Indian and Pakistani foreign ministers had decided last year to set up a committee of retired senior judges who would visit jails in the two countries and propose steps to their welfare and quick release.
