The Uttar Pradesh Government has banned the opening of new liquor shops in and around the areas having Dalit population.
Lucknow, Apr 6 : The Uttar Pradesh Government has banned the opening of new liquor shops in and around the areas having Dalit population.
According to media reports, the Mayawati Government has also given direction for the relocation of existing shops in those areas.
Official sources said that directives have been issued in this regard, which will be effective in both the rural and urban areas.
The District Magistrates have been asked to implement this direction effectively, they added.
