Rahul to tour Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand

Congress General Secretary and MP Rahul Gandhi is all set visit Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand later this month.

New Delhi, Apr 5 : Congress General Secretary and MP Rahul Gandhi is all set visit Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand later this month.

Rahul Gandhi is likely to tour the two tribal-dominated states in the third week of April, sources said. The Gandhi scion wants to connect with the tribal communities of two states.

During his recent visit to Orissa and Karnataka, Rahul made special efforts to understand the issues of the tribals.

He has earmarked tribal issues, agriculture and youth as his three important priority areas during his countrywide tour that began last month with a visit to Orissa.

An important reason for choosing Chhattisgarh as the next destination in the tour is the fact that the state goes to polls later this year.

As for neighbouring Madhya Pradesh, which will also see Assembly elections later this year, Rahul will participate in the campaigning, but the state was unlikely to be covered by his countrywide tour by then.

However, Rahul in-charge of Youth Congress and NSUI, would like to call it a tour aimed at connecting with people, the sources said.
