Ambassadors of Brazil, Nepal, Gabon, Benin present credentials to President Patil

Ambassadors of Brazil, Nepal, Gabon and Benin presented their credentials to President Pratibha Devisingh Patil at a ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan today.

New Delhi, Apr 4 : Ambassadors of Brazil, Nepal, Gabon and Benin presented their credentials to President Pratibha Devisingh Patil at a ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan today.

The Envoys who presented their credentials were: Brazilian Ambassador Marco Antonio Diniz Brandao, Nepalese Ambassador Durgesh Man Singh, Ambassador of Gabon Desire Koumba and Ambassador of Benin Sedozan Jean-Claude Apithy.

President Patil during her interaction with the Head of Missions noted that all the Ambassadors who had presented their credentials were from developing countries.

In this context, she emphasized greater cooperation between developing countries and stated that India was committed to enhancing South-South Cooperation.

The President also stated that developing countries should work together collectively for a greater role in international bodies whether at the UN or the International Financial Institutions.

The credential presentation ceremony was attended by the senior members of the diplomatic missions and senior officials of the External Affairs Ministry.
