A police constable and a top Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militant were killed in an encounter in Kishtwar District today.

Jammu, Apr 29 : A police constable and a top Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militant were killed in an encounter in Kishtwar District today.

Following a tip off about the presence of the self-styled commander of LeT, Abu Hamza in Kurar village of Bonjwah Tehsil, personnel from Jammu Police and 26 Rashtriya Rifles started a search operation.

Abu Hamza and police constable Kiker Singh were killed in the ensuing gunbattle between the security forces and the militant outfit and two other militants managed to escape, police sources said.
