CBI informs Supreme Court about Subbas fake papers

The Central Bureau of Investigation has brought into the light of the Supreme Court that the birth certificates and other details submitted by Congress Member of Parliament M K Subba are fake.

New Delhi, Apr 28 : The Central Bureau of Investigation has brought into the light of the Supreme Court that the birth certificates and other details submitted by Congress Member of Parliament M K Subba are fake.

The CBI in its report to the apex court said that the details and the birth related information furnished by him to the Election Commission are not genuine and appear to be forged.

The Supreme Court has now issued a notice giving six-weeks to Subba to clarify his stand on the issue.

The matter came to light when a leading television news channel reported that he was not Indian. The channel also revealed that the lawmaker has concealed his identity that he was a citizen of Nepal.

Subba represents the Tejpur Lok Sabha constituency of Assam.
