Jammu, Apr 21 : A Central Reserve Police Force soldier deployed near the Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu's Reasi District committed suicide today after injuring his company commander and a colleague with rifle shots.
Following a verbal argument, Veerander Singh opened fire on company commander, Inspector Snoop and on Parveen Kumar, leaving both in a critical condition.
"The CRPF has ordered a probe into the incident," said Deputy Inspector General Alok Puri.
Nearly 600 CRPF personnel are deployed on the 13 km route from Katra to the shrine.
