Srinagar, Apr 12 : Congress president Sonia Gandhi will address a public rally here today. The rally is seen as the beginning of the party's campaign for the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections and next year's Lok Sabha polls.

For Sonia's daylong visit, a foolproof 3-tier security blanket has been thrown around the areas where she will visit.

Sonia is likely to visit the biggest Kashmiri migrant camp in Purkhoo area and address a gathering of migrants. She is also expected to visit the Jagti migrant township in Nagrota, which is still under construction.

According to sources, these venues have been sanitised by bomb disposal squads and Special Protection Group (SPG) personnel.

This is Sonia's second visit to Jammu and Kashmir in the past fortnight. She last visited the state on March 22 to inaugurate the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden in Srinagar.
