Alanzo I, a ship in Alanzo series, Chinese Junk, traditional wooden ship being conceptualised and is currently constructed at the behest of a German resident Alanzo Langecker by a local ship builder at Ghodbunder in Thane District, India which is a reproduction of a historic and pirate junk ship 'The Red Dragon' built sometimes during 1805-1834.
Alanzo I will be the largest wooden ship of 160 ft in length which will be used as a luxury cruise hotel in the Caribbean and Mediterranean for the HIPs (High Income People), have partnered with 'Burj Al Arab', a luxury hotel at Dubai and other luxury hotels. The cruise will have nine suites of 600 sq ft each accommodating upto 30 guests; each suite rooms will be air-conditioned country themed including China, Egypt, Greece, India, Cyprus, France, Turkey, Italy and Morocco.
The best ship builder, architect, designer, suppliers are working closely together for building of Alanzo I under direct supervision of German experts who are in Mumbai until completion of the ship including engaging of the best shipping law firms to maintain quality right from construction stage.
Alanzo Langecker, stated that 'The ship is expected to complete by December 2007 and will fly Panamanian flag thereafter ownership will be transferred to a German based company, Club Alanzo YP Cruises GmbH before we sail out of India with the ship, as strategised by our solicitors Hathi & Partners from India and Von Pereira Rechtsanwalte from Germany".
Langecker further stated that "A traditional building method is used for construction of this fully air-conditioned wooden cruise hotel using Malaysian Sal timber treated with fire retardant chemicals to meet International class requirements equipped with the latest electronic gadgets and navigation equipments on board, the hull of the ship is built as per standards of the International Maritime Organisation with three masts and a large sail area, powered by engine and sail with a speed of 6 knots per hour".
